Time Management & Overwhelm
Wouldn’t it be amazing to hand some of the burden and stress off to someone else, so you can focus on the things you know you’re amazing at?
Today marks the end of my first official week since the launch of my firm and I must say, I have learned so much about what it takes to run your own business. Despite having a decade in various accounting positions, I was still surprised how little time I felt I had during the day. Even as I write this and sip my now room-temp green tea, it still feels like I just sat down at my desk. Between responding to emails, taking client calls, setting up social media accounts, updating my calendar & daily agenda, and doing actual accounting, it’s hard to not feel lost in the chaotic nature of it all. Regardless of how much I plan and prepare, I find myself dismayed by how quickly the end of the day creeps on me. I can also imagine that most other business owners in a similar situation feel the same stressors of how to best effectively manage your time and know that things are taken care of. Wouldn’t it be amazing to hand some of the burden and stress off to someone else, so you can focus on the things you know you’re amazing at?
One of the things that takes up most of the time as a small business owner is bookkeeping. Now, I love bookkeeping, accounting, and having my face in a spreadsheet for eight hours at a time. I don’t imagine that’s something that others find as exciting. For most, I imagine, it’s monotonous and driveling; a task that’s done out of necessity. It’s estimated that small business owners spend 10-15 hours per week on bookkeeping. That is a significant chuck of time to spend, time that may be more effectively used elsewhere. 15 hours focusing on core business tasks(doing what you do best) is immensely more valuable than the same amount of time spent on the minutiae of entering receipts, managing your payroll, creating invoices, and reconciling your bank statements.

Maybe you enjoy the bookkeeping aspect of your business, that it makes you feel more in control of your finances. Or maybe, as I believe most feel, the stress and pressure is leading to burnout. Perhaps, you’re missing deadlines and other opportunities because you’re not able to focus on what you need to. Or worst of all, you might be banging your head against the desk because it’s five hours past close and you can’t get your checking account to reconcile. What if there’s a better way? A way that not only mitigates a self-inflicted welt on your forehead, but also frees up as much as 750 hours a year.
It might be time to consider outsourcing your accounting. Hiring experienced professionals to take the load off your shoulders not only saves you time, but also allows you to focus on revenue streams for your business. This effectively increases your bottom line, while freeing up your time and alleviating the stress associated with managing your own bookkeeping. So instead of grabbing the same three month old bag of frozen peas for the oncoming headache, let’s chat. I would love to discuss all the ways we can bring value to your business.
